Hillary's America - Crime Pays
Dinesh D’Souza’s new documentary, Hillary’s America, paints an accurate and devastating portrayal of the Democratic Party and of Hillary Clinton. Needless to say, the left does not like this documentary at all. The critics call it propaganda - but it’s based on fact. They have yet to point to any historical inaccuracy in the film. The documentary has three main components; a brief review of D’Souza’s conviction for breaking campaign finance laws; a history of the Democratic Party, and an investigation of Hillary Clinton.
D’Souza received the unprecedented sentence of eight months in a half-way house. While not excusing the “crime,” no one else has ever received such a severe punishment for this violation.
D’Souza reimbursed two friends $10,000 each for their contributions to his college friend, Wendy Long, who was running for the U.S. Senate in New York. He was sent to a half-way house for hardened criminals. It was there, as a result of his interactions with these felons, that D’Souza has an insight: The Democratic Party is a Political Gang bent on pilfering/stealing from the American people.
D’Souza takes the viewer through a chronological history of the Democratic Party, beginning with its founding and the numerous offensives committed by Andrew Jackson and other presidents, concluding with the presidency of Barak Obama. Although a few democratic presidents like Harry Truman and Jimmy Carter are missing, the revered progressive presidents, such as Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Lyndon Johnson are shown for what they are: bigots and political opportunists. As only D’Souza can so aptly do, he simply reveals what is hiding in plain sight by paying attention to the actual message the liberals are proclaiming – in their own words. Further, his observations are buttressed by others who can also clearly hear and see the liberal ideology as it unfolds. His interview with Carol Swain, an African-American, female law professor from Vanderbilt Law School, is completely compelling as she recounts the story of how Southern Democrats systematically stripped away the rights of blacks following the reconstruction period.
Once the backdrop of the Democratic Party is established, the natural progression is uncovering the truth about Hillary Clinton. He explains the influence of Saul Alinsky, the father of “community organizing,” political radical, and shakedown artist on Hillary’s worldview and modus operandi. D’Souza again masterfully uses numerous news clips and campaign ads to show her misconduct and hypocrisy. He also includes Bill in the mix. It’s clear that this “marriage” is really is a conspiracy between the two of them to acquire money and power by whatever means necessary. The “marriage” and Hillary’s attacks against Bill's victims serve as a cover for his life-long preoccupation as a sexual predator.
The final portion of the documentary is sweepingly patriotic. A beautiful rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" and a re-enactment of the major historical events in American history starting with the Revolutionary War and culminating with a current image of the Statute of Liberty. The substance of the movie is solid. There is an ugly history about the Democratic Party and D’Souza tells it, and he also show the greatness of the country that the Democrats are so relentlessly determined to destroy.
From a cinematic point of view, the documentary is well-done overall. Even though the reenactments from the 19th Senate Chamber are somewhat stilted, the focus of those scenes is on the speeches. It is difficult for critics to deny those words, especially when they are part of the legislative record. Despite any possible shortcomings in those scenes, D’Souza’s work tells a compelling story and holds your attention.
After reading some of the “conventional” reviews of this documentary, I’m wondering if they watched the same documentary that I saw. How is it not clear that Obamacare seeks to control the healthcare /insurance industry in the U.S.? How is it not clear that Hillary continues to deny that she did any wrongdoing regarding her Department of State e-mails/server and the debacle of Benghazi? This is the modus operandi of the Democrats to steal and to deny. D’Souza has it right; the Democrats are not working for Americans but against them. Remember that on Election Day.
